Skytronic brands

The Skytronic product range is divided into several brands each covering a smaller subset of the electronics market.

We also supply various ranges of products from other suppliers such as Actor-Mate (lasers), GENI (light effects), e-mix (DJ controller), McGregor (Amplification), Audio Technica (microphones), GE (lamps), Osram (lamps), Neutrik (connectors), Servisol (service aids) and GP (batteries); products that support and complete our ranges.

Skytronic UK - The Company

Founded from a strong electronics background in 1998, Skytronic Ltd has rapidly grown to become a driving force in the British consumer electronics market place.

Situated in Manchester within the main North West Containerbase, we are ideally located for both receiving and despatching our products. Containers carrying our products arrive at UK ports and are immediately moved by train to the railhead within our site and into the Skytronic bonded warehouse. Not only does this give us significant transport savings but means that we can clear, receive and despatch goods within 24 hours.

One of the major benefits we enjoy in our current location is the ability to expand our distribution centre as the business grows. Recently we have increased our warehouse space to 60,000 sq ft and refitted it with high bay racking to give us over 6000 pallet locations. This has allowed us to increase the efficiency of our despatch operation and accommodate the addition of new products.

In 1999 we became one of the first companies in the UK to be approved by customs and excise for CFSP (Customs Freight Simplified Procedures) which means that Skytronic stock is not subject to the usual customs clearance delays. Skytronic are authorised by customs and excise to remove the goods immediately upon arrival into the country under CFSP authorisation and then, directly into our bonded warehouse. This is a major factor in keeping our stock turn under tight control, which in turn helps us to keep prices competitive and our stock availability high.

Following the acquisition, in 1999, of Adastra Electronics Ltd, Skytronic UK has been able to add a successful range of public address equipment, cable and complementary accessories to its range and made a successful effort to develop and promote Adastra as a go forward brand for the Skytronic group.

In December 2003 Skytronic strengthened its position in the professional audio market with the acquisition of Citronic's product portfolio. The Citronic brand has for over 33 years played a leading role in establishing and developing the UK DJ audio market - as it continues to do with Skytronic.

In September 2005 Skytronic acquired a majority shareholding in Mercury Telecraft Ltd, a long established TV Aerial and accessory manufacturer and distributor based in Canvey Island, Essex. The Mercury brand has been synonymous with quality and innovative products for over 30 years. These products have now for the first time been added to the Skytronic brand portfolio.

Skytronic is made up of an enthusiastic and dedicated team of professionals with unrivalled experience in the consumer electronics industry, each member of the team is dedicated to maintaining and surpassing the high level of service that our customers have come to expect.

Built on service

Skytronic prides itself on its unique level of service, from the first day of trading we have always offered next day delivery, which is essential in today's business climate. We are able to offer next day service due not only to the high stock levels, but also to the dedicated warehouse team who ensure that all orders are ready for despatch the same day they are received.

Technical excellence

A new feature for this year is our dedicated Technical support line which is manned by our dedicated team of engineering and compliance staff who are charged with the task of monitoring and controlling the quality of both existing and new products. Each new product undergoes a stringent quality control procedure to ensure its suitability and compliance with relevant standards. Regular checks ensure the product quality is maintained across shipments to ensure any technical issues are resolved before they become problems. A high level of technical product knowledge is available at all levels of the company with most technical queries solved quickly and efficiently.
